In this Official Dispatch, SI benefits will be granted to foreign workers bound to participate in the compulsory SI program according to the following schedule:
- From December 1, 2018:
+ Entitlement to sickness, pregnancy and maternity insurance benefits under the Law on Social Insurance;
+ Entitlement to occupational accident and disease insurance benefits under the Law on Occupational Hygiene and Safety and the Decree No. 37/2016/ND-CP dated May 15, 2016.
- From January 1, 2022, foreign workers will be entitled to:
+ Retirement pensions and death insurance benefits under the Law on Social Insurance;
+ One-off SI benefits under clause 6 of Article 9 in the Decree No. 143.
- If the insured employee who is currently entitled to monthly retirement pensions and SI benefits is not residing in Vietnam, he/she may authorize another person to receive these amounts on his/her behalf.
- Employees may be entitled to one-off SI benefits of their choice.
