Specifically, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam assigns the following tasks concerning land:
**Intensifying effective management of land derived from state-owned agriculture and forestry farms
- Implementation time: 2020-2024.
- Implementation unit: the Department of Land Registration and Information Database shall take charge and cooperate with the Department of Land Resources Planning and Development and the Department of Land.
- Quantity, targets, and operations: comply with the scheme to intensify the management of land derived from state-owned agriculture and forestry farms used by agricultural companies and forestry companies not subject to re-arrangement according to Decree No. 118/2014/ND-CP forest management boards, other public organizations, households, and individuals approved by the Prime Minister of Vietnam in Decision No. 32/QD-TTg dated January 7, 2020.
**Completing the development of the national land information system and the land database following the agreed standards nationwide in association with the population database
- Implementation time: 2024-2025.
- Implementation unit: the Department of Land Registration and Information Database shall take charge and cooperate with the Department of Land Resources Planning and Development, the Department of Digital Transformation and Data for Natural Resources and Environment, and the Department of Land.
- Quantity, targets, and operations: (1) Issue or request competent authorities to issue regulations, technical-economic norms, and legislative documents to develop the national land information system and land database following the agreed standards nationwide in association with the population database; (2) Implement the development of information technology infrastructures; software and applications for the management, operation, update, and utilization of the national land database; develop the central land database.
**Settling the shortage of production land and housing land for ethnic groups
- Implementation time: 2024-2025.
- Implementation unit: the Department of Land shall take charge and cooperate with the Department of Land Registration and Information Database and the Department of Land Resources Planning and Development.
- Quantity, targets, and operations: (1) Propose the development of policies and laws to settle the shortage of production land and housing land for ethnic groups; (2) Cooperate with relevant People’s Committees of provinces and centrally affiliated cities in implementing measures to settle the shortage of production land and housing land for ethnic groups.
