Residence registration procedures for minors from January 10, 2025 According to the Decree No. 154/2024/ND-CP, residence registration procedures for minors from January 10, 2025 shall be as follows:
- In case a minor registers permanent residence or temporary residence at the place of permanent residence or place of temporary residence of his or her parent, mother or father, the father or mother or guardian shall declare and add a confirmation to the declaration of change of residence information.
In case a minor registers permanent residence or temporary residence at a place of permanent residence or place of temporary residence that is not the place of permanent residence or place of temporary residence of his or her parent, mother or father, the father or mother or guardian shall declare and add a confirmation to the declaration of change of residence information. In case the Court decides to entrust the minor to his/her father or mother, whoever is entrusted with the minor shall declare and add a confirmation to the declaration of change of residence information.
- Within 60 days from the day on which the minor’s birth is documented, the father or mother or householder or guardian is responsible for following procedures for permanent residence registration or temporary residence registration, and declare residence information for the minor. In case the place of permanent residence of the father or mother of a minor is not the current place of residence, the minor may register permanent residence at the place of permanent residence of his/her father or mother.
- In case there is no information on the place of permanent residence or place of temporary residence of a minor’s father or mother, it is required to declare residence information for the minor according to the provisions of Article 4 of Decree No. 154/2024/ND-CP.
- In case of first-time permanent residence registration or first-time temporary residence registration for a minor in accordance with the provisions of Clauses 1 and 2, Article 7 of Decree No. 154/2024/ND-CP, the residence registration authority is not required to check or verify the legality of accommodation and residence status.
