Policy to take effect as of January 1, 2021 for villages or communes facing extreme hardship during the 2016-2020 period.

The Prime Minister has just issued the Decision No. 72/QD-TTg regarding the renewal of the existing social welfare policy granted to ethnic minority or mountainous communes and villages.

According to this document, as of January 1, 2021, communes and villages referred to in the documents mentioned below will have access to the renewed social welfare policies:

Communes and villages mentioned in the Decision No. 582/QD-TTg dated April 28, 2017; the Decision No. 103/QD-TTg dated January 22, 2019 on the List of villages facing extreme hardship, region-III, II and I communes within ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2016-2020 period.

The policy is applied until the Decision on approval of the List of villages facing extreme hardship, region-III, II and I communes within ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2025 period is issued and enters into force.

Concerning the compilation of the list of communes and villages facing extreme hardship for the 2021-2025 period, the Prime Minister mandates People’s Committees of provinces and centrally-affiliated cities to imperatively carry out checks and compile that list as per the Decision No. 33/2020/QD-TTg dated November 12, 2020.

Decision No. 72/QD-TTg is entering into force as of January 16, 2021.
