According to this document, certificates of temporary residence will be granted to foreigners entering Vietnam in the following prescribed manner:
Immigration enforcement units grant certificates of temporary residence to foreign passengers entering Vietnam by affixing stamps on passports or separate visas, except the following cases:
Foreign passengers pass automatic checkpoints.
In addition, below are regulations on grant of visas in certain particular cases:
- If foreigners exempted from the visa requirement upon entry into border-gate economic zones wish to transit to other locations in Vietnam, they may obtain visas with the help of entities or persons in Vietnam that act as their inviters or guarantors.
- If foreigners exempted from the visa requirement set out under treaties to which Vietnam is a member state upon entry into border-gate economic zones have expired temporary residence permits and wish to transit to other locations in Vietnam, they may obtain visas in compliance with treaties.
Decree No. 75/2020/ND-CP is entering into force from the signature date.
