City’s gas stations must be located at least 50m away from schools

Nguyễn Thông

Ministry of Construction promulgates the Circular No. 22/2019/TT-BXD on National Technical Regulation on construction planning signed by the Minister.

The Circular prescribes that urban stationary gas stations must conform to minimum distance requirements in order to ensure fire safety, specifically including:

- The minimum distance from a stationary gas station to frequently crowded places (e.g. open markets, shopping malls, training establishments, healthcare facilities, cultural, sports institutions and public service offices) must be 50 meters.

(Existing regulations prescribe that a stationary gas station must be located at least 100 meters away from crowded places, open markets or schools).

- The minimum distance between 2 stationary gas stations must be 300 meters (the same as regulations laid down in the Decision No. 04/2008/QD-BXD dated April 3, 2008).

Circular No. 22/2019/TT-BXD is entering into force on July 1, 2019, replacing Circular No. 32/2009/TT-BXD dated September 10, 2009 and Decision No. 04/2008/QD-BXD dated April 3, 2008.
