Specifically, the fees and charges applicable at inland waterway ports and wharves from April 1, 2026 are as follows:
(1) Vessel tonnage fee
- Inbound trip (whether loaded or unloaded): VND 165 per ton of gross tonnage;
- Outbound trip (whether loaded or unloaded): VND 165 per ton of gross tonnage.
(2) Charges for entry to and exit from inland waterway ports and wharves
- Cargo vessels with gross tonnage from 10 tons to 50 tons: VND 5.000 per trip;
- Cargo vessels with gross tonnage of over 50 tons up to 200 tons, or passenger vessels with capacity from 13 to 50 seats: VND 10.000 per trip;
- Cargo vessels or tug convoys with gross tonnage of over 200 tons up to 500 tons, or passenger vessels with capacity from 51 to 100 seats: VND 20.000 per trip;
- Cargo vessels or tug convoys with gross tonnage of over 500 tons up to 1.000 tons, or passenger vessels with capacity of 101 seats or more: VND 30.000 per trip;
- Cargo vessels or tug convoys with gross tonnage of over 1.000 tons up to 1.500 tons: VND 40.000 per trip;
- Cargo vessels or tug convoys with gross tonnage of over 1.500 tons: VND 50.000 per trip.
(3) Inland waterway declaration fee
- Seagoing vessels and seaplanes: VND 100.000 per declaration;
- Inland waterway craft and foreign watercraft: non-motorized craft with gross tonnage of 10 tons or more; motorized craft with total main engine power of 10 horsepower or more; craft with capacity of more than 12 persons: VND 50.000 per declaration.
Seagoing vessels entering and leaving inland waterway ports and wharves shall be subject to fees and charges (including maritime safety assurance fees) in accordance with the schedule of maritime fees and charges issued by the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam.
Where a vessel enters and leaves multiple inland waterway ports or wharves under the management of the same port authority during a single voyage, it shall only be subject to the above fees and charges once.
For vessels entering and leaving inland waterway ports or wharves not for the purpose of loading or unloading cargo or embarking or disembarking passengers, the vessel tonnage fee shall be equal to 70% (seventy percent) of the applicable vessel tonnage fee specified above.
