Guidance on confirming Covid-19 infections with rapid test

This is a content of the Official Dispatch No. 11011/BYT-KCB dated December 28, 2021 on testing for confirming people infected with COVID-19 and discharging patients from the hospital.

According to this document, there are 3 cases in which a person is a confirmed case (F0 case):

- Any person who is a suspected case or tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 with Real-time RT-PCR test.
 
- Any person who is a suspected case and tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 with rapid test (Ag-RDT).

(The rapid test kits must be licensed by the Ministry of Health and the test must be performed by medical staff or a person who is suspected under the direct supervision or under indirect supervision through remote media of the medical staff).

- Any person who has no symptoms, has epidemiological factors or has been in close contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within 14 days and tests positive for SARS-CoV-2 2 times with rapid test:

+ The second test is done within 8 hours after getting the first test result. The rapid test kits must be licensed by the Ministry of Health and the test must be performed by medical staff;

+ The test may be performed by the suspected case under the direct supervision or under indirect supervision through remote media of the medical staff.

In case there is the only 1 positive rapid test result for SARS-CoV-2, a Real-time RT-PCR test is required  or confirmation.
