The Government’s Office issues the Official Dispatch No. 208/VPCP-QHQT setting out regulations on carrying out flights to bring Vietnamese citizens from abroad in the 1st quarter of 2021.

According to this document, in order to prevent and control the Covid-19 disease in the new context, the Prime Minister gives the following directions:

- Due to the emergence of a new strain of Covid-19 virus which spreads faster in many countries, the number of flights that bring international passengers into Vietnam plummets at the least during the period from now to the Lunar New Year’s days.

Where actually needed, each international flight intended to pick Vietnamese citizens home must be agreed by Ministry of Health, Ministry of National Offence and Ministry of Transport before seeking the Prime Minister's consent.

- After Tet, the Ministry of Transport must promote conventional international flights to countries approved by the Prime Minister in order to aim for dual targets and meet essential traffic demands of citizens.

- Ministry of Information and Telecommunications directs press and communications agencies to provide a proper volume of accurate information about domestic and international developments of epidemics, avoiding any public chaos causing adverse socio-economic impacts.

- Continuing to stringently comply with regulations on handling, transportation and medical supervision of persons completing concentrated health isolations and quarantines; strictly sanctioning violating organizations or individuals.

The Official Dispatch No. 208/VPCP-QHQT is issued on January 9, 2021.
