Each employee under temporary suspension from work due to COVID-19 receive 1 million dong

The Government issues the Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP on several support policies for employees and employers in a difficult situation due to COVID-19.

According to this document, if employees working under employment contracts have to temporarily stop working due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they will be entitled to financial support of 1,000,000 dong/person when meeting the following conditions:  

- They are suspended from work under Clause 3, Article 99 of the Labor Code and subject to medical isolation or in blocked areas at the request of state authorities for 14 days or more during the period from May 1, 2021 to end of December 31, 2021;

- They are compulsorily participating in the social insurance plan till the date preceding the date of their temporary suspension from work.

In addition, for employees working at enterprises, cooperatives, public non-business units that can autonomously cover their recurrent expenses, etc., and whose business is temporarily suspended at the request of the State for COVID-19 prevention and control purposes, they must meet the following conditions:

+ The length of time during which their employment contracts are temporarily suspended or they take unpaid leave within their contract term must be at least 15 consecutive days within the period from May 1, 2021 to end of December 31, 2021; the date of commencement of temporary suspension of their employment contracts or unpaid leave falls within the period from May 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021;

+ They are compulsorily participating in the social insurance plan till the date immediately before the temporary suspension of their employment contracts or their unpaid leave occurs.

One-off support is paid to the following employees: If they are off from at least 15 consecutive days to less than 1 months, or at least 1 month, they will be entitled to 1,855,000 dong/person and 3,710,000 dong/person, respectively.
