Roadmap for application of foreign language graduation requirements for students is continued

This is the highlight of the MOET's Official Dispatch No. 955/BGDDT-DANN regarding instructions about implementation of 2022’s key tasks involved in the National Foreign Language Project and proposal for the Plan for implementation of this Roadmap at MOET’s affiliated units.

According to this document, the Roadmap in the context of higher education is regulated as follows:

- Continuing to carry out the roadmap for application of graduation requirements of level-3 foreign language competency for students graduating in non-linguistic specialities, or of level-5 foreign language competency for students graduating in linguistic specialties;

Target: 80% of linguistic specialties, 60% of other specialties are expected to carry out foreign language training programs according to graduation requirements and in line with disciplines by 2023.

- Continuing to carry out this Roadmap according to the schedule of implementation of second language teacher training programs tailored to teacher's professional standards and foreign language teacher competency framework.

+ Achieving the target of 80% of graduate in foreign language pedagogy specialization that meet requirements set out according to teacher's professional standards and foreign language teacher competency framework by 2023;

+ Aiming for the target of 100% of graduate in foreign language pedagogy specialization that meet requirements set out according to teacher's professional standards and foreign language teacher competency framework by 2025.

- Continuing to research, assess, formulate, complete and issue curricula, syllabuses and materials used for foreign language training according to graduation requirements and disciplines.
