05 cases of exemption from exhaust tests for new manufactured and imported automobiles are now made known

On December 23, 2020, the Ministry of Transport issues the Circular No. 33/2020/TT-BGTVT on amendments to 01:2020 QCVN 86:2015/BGTVT – National technical regulation on the fourth level of gaseous pollutants emissions for new assembled, manufactured and imported automobiles.

According to this document, below are the cases in which the exhaust test exemption is granted; inspection and certification procedures for new manufactured, assembled and imported automobiles are continued:

 (1) Those have already obtained ex-factory quality checks (domestically manufactured, assembled automobiles) prior to February 15, 2021;

 (2) Those have already obtained technical safety and environmental protection certificates for imported motor vehicles (imported vehicles) prior to February 15, 2021;   

 (3) Those have already obtained ex-factory quality inspection checks (domestically manufactured, assembled automobiles) after February 15, 2021, based on equivalent Type Approval Certificates issued before February 15, 2021 and remaining valid;  

 (4) Those are manufactured or assembled from base vehicles already obtaining technical safety and environmental protection certificates before February 15, 2021;   

 (5) Those have been newly certified as automobiles manufactured or assembled from base vehicles as stated in (1), (2) and (3) above.    

The Circular No. 33/2020/TT-BGTVT is entering into force as of February 15, 2021.
