According to specific regulations laid down in this Decree, the rate of financial support for medical examination and treatment of occupational diseases is adjusted as follows:
- As for medical examination of occupational diseases
The rate of financial support will be as much as 50% of the cost of medical examination of occupational disease according to the pricelist of occupational disease examination services approved by the Minister of Health and in effect on the date of an employee's taking medical examination of his/her occupational disease after receipt of health insurance coverage, but not greater than VND 800,000 per a patient each time.
(Currently, the rate of financial support is not greater than one third of base pay per a patient each time).
- As for medical treatment of occupational diseases
The rate of financial support will be as much as 50% of the cost of medical treatment of occupational disease according to the pricelist of medical treatment services in effect on the date of an employee's receiving medical treatment of his/her occupational disease under the Minister of Health’s regulations after receipt of health insurance coverage, but not greater than VND 15,000,000 per a patient.
(Currently, the rate of financial support is not 10 times greater than the base pay per a patient).
Also, the number of times of financial support for each employee will be kept unchanged, which is 2 times, and such financial support will be only given once each year.
Decree No. 88/2020/ND-CP is entering into force from September 15, 2020, replacing the Decree No. 37/2016/ND-CP dated May 15, 2016.
