The Decree prescribes that the initial fees for registration of cars, trailers or semi-trailers towed by motor vehicles and the likes which are domestically manufactured or assembled must be subject to the following regulations:
- From June 28, 2020 to end of December 31, 2020: These fees will be calculated at the rates which are 50% less than those prescribed in the Decree No. 20/2019/ND-CP dated February 21, 2019, specifically as follows:
+ Initial registration fees for passenger vehicles with a maximum of 9 seats are calculated at the 5% (previously, 10%) rate;
+ Initial registration fees for motor vehicles carrying both passengers and cargos with the permissible load of less than 1,500 kg and a maximum of 5 seats, and vans with the permissible load of less than 1,500 kg, are calculated at the rate which is 60% less than the rate applied to passenger vehicles with a maximum capacity of 9 seats,…
- From January 1, 2021, all rates of vehicle registration fee stipulated in the Decree No. 20/2019 will resume.
The Decree No. 70/2020/ND-CP is effective from June 28, 2020 to end of December 31, 2020.
