Ownership taxes on domestically assembled motor vehicles drop by 50%

This is the highlight of the Resolution No. 84/NQ-CP regarding objectives and measures of ongoing elimination of production and business difficulties arising during Covid-19.

According to this document, the Government agrees to several relief measures for production and business activities, specifically including:

- Ownership taxes to be paid when registering domestically manufactured or assembled motor vehicles will fall by 50% till end of 2020 for domestic consumption promotion purposes.

- Land rents to be paid in 2020 by users of land directly leased out by the State under Decisions or Agreement in the form of annual payments will be reduced by 15% if they have to temporarily close their business or production due to Covid-19 impacts. 

- Foreign professionals, corporate managers, investors or hi-tech workers working for investment and business projects in Vietnam will be allowed to enter Vietnam to maintain business and production activities of enterprises.

- Work permits of foreign professionals, corporate managers, investors or hi-tech workers employed by enterprises may be renewed.

- New work permits will be issued to foreign professionals, corporate managers, investors or hi-tech workers as substitutes for those who are not allowed to enter or do not re-enter Vietnam.
