- Epidemic name: COVID-19 (acute respiratory infection disease sparked by a novel strain of coronavirus).
- Epidemic outbreak outset time: January 23, 2020 (the time when the first case of acute respiratory infection disease caused by a novel strain of coronavirus was reported)
- Disease-hit areas and spreading scale: Nationwide (in the previous Decision No. 173/QD-TTg dated February 1, 2020, disease-hit areas and spreading scale are determined, including Khanh Hoa, Vinh Phuc and Thanh Hoa provinces).
- Causes: A novel strain of coronavirus.
- Level of danger: Class A communicable disease posing the risk of a global pandemic.
- Route of transmission: The disease is transmitted between people through respiratory droplets.
