The Decree prescribes public venues where drinking beers and other alcoholic beverages is prohibited in addition to those specified in the Law on Prevention and Control of Harmful Effects of Beers and other Alcoholic Beverages, including:
- Parks, except restaurants inside the boundaries of parks which have obtained beer and other alcoholic beverage business licenses before February 24, 2020.
- Bus stops.
- Cinemas, theaters, cultural and sports centers during the period of events that they host according to their licensed main purposes, tasks and functions, except when they host food and cultural events where consumption of beers and other alcoholic beverages is permitted.
In addition, the Decree sets out regulations on measures to prevent under-18-year-old people from searching and accessing information about, and purchase, beers and other alcoholic beverages through the e-commerce system.
Decree No. 24/2020/ND-CP is entering into force on February 24, 2020.
