Details about employee’s retirement age increased in each year following January 1, 2020

Pursuant to the 2019 Labor Code and the 2012 Labor Code, employee’s retirement age starting from 2020 will be regulated as follows:

- Retirement age of female employees working under ordinary working condition: 

+ 2020: 55 years.

+ 2021: 55 years and 4 months

+ 2022: 55 years and 8 months

+ Year 2023: 56 years

+ Year 2024: 56 years and 4 months

+ 2025: 56 years and 8 months

+ 2026: 57 years

+ 2027: 57 years and 4 months

+ 2028: 57 years and 8 months

+ 2029: 58 years

+ 2030: 58 years and 4 months

+ 2031: 58 years and 8 months

+ 2032: 59 years

+ 2033: 59 years and 4 months

+ 2034: 59 years and 8 months

+ From 2035 onwards: 60 years

- Retirement age of male employees working under ordinary working condition: 

+ 2020: 60 years

+ 2021: 60 years and 3 months

+ 2022: 60 years and 6 months

+ 2023: 60 years and 9 months

+ 2024: 61 years

+ 2025: 61 years and 3 months

+ 2026: 61 years and 6 months

+ 2027: 61 years and 9 months

+ From 2028 onwards: 62 years.

Notes:

- If an employee is incapacitated, works in special arduous and hazardous condition, or arduous and hazardous condition, his/her retirement age will be regulated as follows:

+ 2020: she may retire at age of 55; he may retire at age of 60.

+ From 2021 onwards, his/her mandatory retirement age will adhere to the principle "His/her retirement age may be decreased by not more than 5 years compared to the retirement age of employees working in ordinary condition".

- If an employee has high professional and technical qualification: The principle "His/her retirement age may be increased by not more than 5 years compared to the retirement age of employees working in ordinary condition".

2019’s Labor Code is officially entering into force from January 1, 2021.
