Fines up to 1 billion dong for persons committing administrative violations in the fishery industry

This is the highlight of the Decree No. 42/2019/ND-CP prescribing administrative penalties for violations arising in the fishery industry.

Pursuant to the Decree, the maximum fine for administrative violations committed by an individual will increase from 100,000,000 dong to 1,000,000,000 dong.

If an organization commits the same violation as an individual, the penalty imposed will be multiplied by two.

In addition, the Decree prescribes the statute of limitations for administrative penalties for violations arising in the fishery industry shall be one year.

The statute of limitations for administrative penalties for violations arising from manufacturing, trading, export and import of fish vessels, aquatic animal varieties, aqua feeds and environmental remediation products used in the fishery industry and aquatic resource protection activities will be two years.

The Decree No. 42/2019/ND-CP will enter into force from July 5, 2019 and replace the Decree No. 103/2013/ND-CP dated September 12, 2013.
