The Decree issues a lot of regulations on imposition of the minimum penalties for violations against the requirements for technical facilities and tourist accommodation services as follows:
- The amount of monetary penalty ranging from VND 1,000,000 to VND 3.000.000 shall be imposed for one of the following violations:
+ Do not provide beds, mattresses, mats, blankets or pillows meeting regulations in force;
+ Do not have face towels or bath towels meeting regulatory requirements;
+ Do not change bedcovers, mats or blanket covers or pillow covers before new visitor’s check-in;
+ Do not change face towels or bathing cloths before new visitors arrive.
- The amount of monetary penalty ranging from VND 5,000,000 to VND 10,000,000 shall be imposed for one of the following violations:
+ Do not assign around-the-clock customer service employees at hotels, tourist villas and guesthouses; do not assign security guards when visitors present at tourist campsites in accordance with regulations in force;
+ Do not have at least 10 bedrooms with respect to hotels or do not have any bedroom with respect to tourist villas, tourist apartments, cruise ships and tourist guesthouses;
In addition, the regulation on imposition of the penalties for failure to register the ranks of tourist accommodation establishments will be repealed to be consistent with Article 50 in the 2017 Law on Tourism.
Attention: The aforesaid penalties will be applied to violating individuals while organizations committing the same violations will be subject to the penalties which are 02 times more than as those for violating individuals.
The Decree No. 45/2019/ND-CP is set to enter into force on August 1, 2019.
