Electronic tax payment and 24/7 customs clearance service to be piloted from October 16, 2017

The General Customs Department has issued the Official Dispatch No. 5273/TCHQ-TXNK dated August 18, 2017 on necessary arrangements for execution of the Proposal “Electronic payment of tax through receiving partner banks and 24/7 customs clearance service”.

The Official Document notifies commercial banks entrusted with tax collection of the plan to pilot the proposal that commences on October 16, 2017.

In order to ensure smooth piloting of the proposal, the General Customs Department in collaboration with involved banks will take preparatory steps in advance according to the following timeline:

- By September 30, 2017, the followings will have been finished:

+ Upgrading the Customs e-payment system, developing functions accessible to tax payers and the function intended for tax declaration and preparation of pay slips on the e-payment portal;

+ Establishing the procedures for information exchange between the General Customs Department and receiving partner banks.

- + From October 1 to 15, 2017 the system for information exchange between the General Customs Department and receiving partner banks will be examined.

- From October 3 to 10, 2017 workshops for tax payers, officers of receiving partner banks, and customs officers,  including 3 meeting sessions that are scheduled to take place in the North, Central Coast  and South, will be held.

Additionally, there is the list of 36 receiving partner banks annexed to the Official Dispatch No. 5273/TCHQ-TXNK .
