According to this Circular, the form and duration of master’s degree program are prescribed as follows:
- Regarding training form:
+ Research-oriented and application-oriented programs will take the formal education form.
+ Application-oriented programs will take the on-the-job training form.
Lecturing period of each training form will be subject to the undergraduate education regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
- Regarding training duration:
+ The duration stated in the standard study plan of the entire course must be consistent with the duration specified in the Structural Framework of the national education system and, concurrently, must be enough for the majority of students to complete their training programs;
+ The duration stated in the standard study plan of the entire course provided in the form of on-the-job training must be at least 20% longer than the regular training form of the same training program;
+ The maximum duration enough for students to complete their course is specified in the regulations of each training institution, but must not be 02 times more than the duration specified according to the standard study plan of the entire course provided in each form of training.
Circular No. 23/2021/TT-BGDDT is entering into force as of October 15, 2021, replacing the Circular No. 15/2014/TT-BGDDT dated May 15, 2014.
