The Circular sets out Program’s objectives as follows:
(1) General objectives: Kindergarten students are interested in getting acquainted with English, feel confident in using English; understand several simple or familiar words indicating people or activities for their age.
(2) Age-specific objectives:
- Kids aged 3 - 4 years:
+ Listen and repeat numeric words indicating 1 – 3 numbers;
+ Listen and reply by using their gestures or non-verbal language, or 1-2 very simple and familiar words or sentences to say hello, goodbye or their name.
- Kids aged 4 - 5 years:
+ Listen and repeat numeric words indicating 1 – 5 numbers, several simple words or phrases;
+ Listen and reply by using their gestures or non-verbal language, 1-3 very simple words or sentences for daily communication situations for their age, and for their personal or family introduction.
- Kids aged 5 - 6 years:
+ Listen and follow 2-3 successive simple requests, fitting with their age;
+ Listen and reply by using their gestures or non-verbal language, or 1-3 very simple words or sentences for daily communication situations.
