According to this document, in the new context when a new coronavirus strain appears and spreads more quickly than the SARS-CoV-2 strain in 38 countries, and the risk of introduction and spreading of this new virus strain into Vietnam is still high, the Prime Minister gives the following instructions:
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must preside over strict assessment of cases of overseas Vietnamese’s aspirations for returns to Vietnam according to the appropriacy principles;
Particular attention should be paid to Vietnamese citizen protection rules and preference must be given to lonely seniors, persons in a difficult situation, persons going abroad for medical reasons, persons whose visas are expired, persons whose employment contracts or learning terms are expired if they wish to return home;
- Temporarily suspending flights to Vietnam from countries and territories where there is infections with new SARS-CoV-2 strain, and the Covid-19 epidemic is at the complicated development stage, especially England, South Africa, etc.
- In case of detecting any infection with the disease, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Security and People's Committees of provinces involved must trace back the original infection case with the aim of preventing the spreading of the disease out to the public.
