Resolution on support for people in difficult situations due to COVID-19 is now in effect

The Government has issued the Resolution No. 42/NQ-CP on measures to provide support for people in difficult situations due to COVID-19.

According to the Resolution, the following employees will be entitled to financial support:

- Employees working under employment contracts that have to agree to temporary suspension of employment contracts, taking unpaid leave for the period of at least 1 month because their enterprises are in difficult situations due to the pandemic, earning no revenue and lacking funds to pay wages and salaries will be granted the following financial support:

+ Rate of financial support is 1.8 million dong/person/month.

+ The support will be proportionate to the actual time length of temporary suspension of employment contracts, unpaid leave or on a monthly basis, depending on the actual developments of the pandemic, from April 1, 2020, and will last for the maximum period of 3 months.

- Employees with their employment or labor contracts which have been terminated, but are not eligible for unemployment insurance covers; employees without having labor contracts that suffer loss of their work, will be granted the following support:

+ Financial support is paid at the rate of 1 million dong/person/month paid on a monthly basis, depending on the actual developments of the pandemic, but will last for no more than 3 months.

+ The effective period will be from April to June this year.

In addition, there will be several other beneficiaries of such support, including persons with meritorious services to the revolution that are receiving monthly allowances; social security beneficiaries that are receiving monthly social welfare benefits; poor or near-poor households, etc.
