This Decree prescribes social network pages are required to use at least 1 domain name “.vn” and store their information in servers with Vietnamese IP addresses.
In addition, the engineering systems of social networks must meet the following requirements:
- Have at least 1 server system in Vietnam to facilitate inspection, examination and information provision activities at any time.
- Store account information, sign-in and sign-out time, user’s IP addresses and journal for processing of posted information for at least 2 years.
- Receive and handle warnings about user’s violating information;
- Detect, warn of and prevent illegal access and network attacks;
- Set up contingency plans to ensure safe and ongoing operations, and take corrective actions in case of emergencies, except force majeure.
The Decree No. 27/2018/ND-CP will enter into force from April 15, 2018.
